Nevis4 are Approved Activity Providers for the DofE Expedition section, we can supply Training, Practice and Qualifying Expeditions for all Levels. We are flexible and can arrange expeditions anywhere. We hold an AALA licence for trekking. We deliver the award Internationally.

We can also supply Supervisors and Assessors for your own expeditions. Please just ask for a quote. Other dates will be added throughout the season. If you don’t see dates that suit please just ask! We may be able to help.

Please Note, Minimum numbers:

Due to DofE rules, minimum numbers for an expedition are 4. Maximum number per group are 7. Multiple groups are of course, permitted. We will provide at least 1 supervisor per group and 1 Assessor. At bronze level this may be the same person.

Minimum numbers for a residential are 5.

If we don’t reach minimum numbers for an expedition we reserve the right to cancel an expedition or residential. Any monies paid will be refunded or an alternative date offered.

Open Expeditions 2025

Nevis4 have the following opportunities available for open expeditions this summer. These expeditions are suitable if you have missed your school, college or other organisations expedition or it hasn’t run for any reason. These can help get your DofE back on track. They are all walking expeditions. We are also able to supply Open Cycling or Canoeing expeditions dependent on dates and numbers. Please just ask.

Open Bronze Expeditions 2025

We are combining a bronze practice and qualifying expedition into 3 days. If you have already done a bronze practice you can join on day 2 at a cost of £200

Open Silver Expeditions 2025

We are combining the practice and Qualifying expedition into 5 days. If you have already done a silver practice, you can join on day 3 at a cost of £300

We are combining the practice and qualifying expedition into a 6 day period ideal if you only have one period available

What’s included in all expeditions:

Tent Hire, 1 gas Trangia and fuel per tent, Compasses, Emergency shelter. GPS tracking. Assessor fees. we also have a small supply of sleeping bags and roll mats.

What’s not included:

Public Transport, Ferry fares, Camp site fees. (in lots of cases we will be wild camping)

Other dates are available for open silver and bronze expeditions. Both Practice and Qualifying We also have routes suitable for special needs groups Please just ask.

Gold Residentials

Course 1

Dates: 30 June 25 – 3 July 25

Course 2

Dates: 1 August 25 – 5 August 25

We are pleased to offer gold residentials over 5 days at Badaguish in Glenmore near Aviemore. This residential will be under Canvas. You will leave the residential with 2 very valuable qualifications. An Outdoor First Aid Course and a Silver NNAS Navigation Qualification. These qualifications are foundation level in the Outdoor Industry but also a must for anyone who spends a lot of time in the outdoors.

The Navigation part of the course will be delivered while Hillwalking in the Cairngorms before returning to the camp each night. The Outdoor First Aid course will be delivered at Badaguish, mainly outside with realistic Emergency scenarios in an Outdoor context. The instructors on the course are all Mountain Leaders with many years experience in public and private sectors. We guarantee that you will leave the course, a much safer and more confident walker, mountaineer biker or skier, ready and well prepared to move on to further training.
